Quicker than delivery and way better than frozen

Fresh homemade pizza within 1/2 an hour of getting home from work.  It doesn't get much better than that.

This pizza is made using the no knead dough which makes the most wonderful crusty home made bread, (more about that another day).  It requires starting the dough at least 10 hours before baking but little else.

To make this pizza enough for 4 you need

3 cups of all purpose flour
1/4 cup of instant dried yeast
1 teaspoon of salt
About 1 1/2 cups of cold water.

Before you go to bed mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl, cover with a tea towel. (this saves a couple of minutes in the morning)

While you drink your morning coffee stir in the water with a wooden spoon combine thoroughly.  It should be a fairly wet sticky dough.

A not very good picture of dough (it was 6:30 in the morning)
Cover with tea towel and go to work.

When you come home  Turn the oven on to 450 and then while it is heating make the pizza.

The dough will be about twice the size and quite bubbly.

Dough ready to use

Put plenty of flour on your counter and pull the dough on to the flour and punch down incorporating some of the flour then flatten and stretch to the desired shape.  I pulled mine in to the shape and size of a large cookie sheet, which I had sprinkled with olive oil.

Waiting for toppings
Now add your toppings.  I have traditionalists in my family, so the toppings were:-
Tomato sauce
hot salami
prosciutto
mozzarella cheese

This would not have been my choice, but it was quite good any way.

Topped and ready to bake

A close up of the toppings
The oven should be heated up by now throw the pizza in on the top shelf for about 15 minutes or a little longer if your dough is thicker.

Pull out and serve.

Walking in the door to on the table 1/2 an hour!

Ready to serve
